Dear Members and Friends of the Harrisburg First Seventh-day Adventist Church,
On the wall above the sofa in our living room you will see a saying based on this scripture: “Pray about everything, Worry about nothing”. It has always been meaningful, but through the past few weeks it has become essential. Let me be honest with you, I have been anxious about many things. In the shadow of this virus crisis, I have worried about our health, our children, our church family, our friends, our school staff and children, finances and the list goes on.
Paul didn’t write these words as just a nice saying. He wrote in the shadow of palace guards (1:13-14) awaiting his trial and inevitable death. While in prison he practiced what he preached and through ceaseless prayer he brought his worries to Christ Jesus and personally experienced “the peace of God, which transcends all understanding.”
“Let’s encourage one another and all the more as we see the day approaching.” If I or our church family can be of assistance to you during this time, please do not hesitate to call: 717-652-6000.
Pastor Dave Sanner
