Dear Members and Friends of the Harrisburg First Seventh-day Adventist Church,
With all the pandemic induced trouble and inconveniences over the past months, I needed some encouragement last week. It came unexpectedly in an email from our church treasurer last Friday at 7:53 p.m. His message read “We are all caught up.” What a blessing! What a miracle! I don’t think we have ever caught up on our church finances during the month of June, and this was in the midst of a pandemic!
This answer to prayer caused me to stop and reflect on God’s timeliness and His amazing grace. When we started our second 40 Days of Prayer series, I asked those participating to daily pray for God to provide the resources that we needed for our church budget and school subsidy. That 40 Days of Prayer ended on Wednesday, July 1, and the good news came just as we were about to begin the Sabbath. “We are all caught up” was clearly a timely answer to prayer. It has reminded me of David’s words in Psalm 95:7: “We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care.”
I want to thank all of you who, through your faithfulness in tithes and offerings, have made your commitment to God’s church and school a priority. Remember His promise in Malachi 3:10 - - “…and try Me now in this,” says the Lord of Hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven…” Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
“Let’s encourage one another and all the more as we see the day approaching.”
If I or our church family can be of assistance to you during this time, please do not hesitate to call: 717-652-6000 (church office) 717-652-6005 (pastor’s line)
Pastor Dave Sanner
